How it all began!

The Meadowvale Seniors Social Club was formed on July 21, 1982 when Laura Piette of the then Recreation Community Department of the City of Mississauga hosted a meeting where 21 seniors attended.  There was a room in the basement of the old Recreation Centre which was designated as the “Youth and Seniors Room” whereby the Seniors had the use of the room during the daytime and the Youths used the room in the evenings.  Subsequently, a meeting was held on August 16, 1982 which was attended by 56 people.  The first President elected was Sim Finlayson.  A steering committee met on August 25, 1982.  Membership fees were $5.00 back then and 40 plus years later are a  minimal $10.00. 
In 2022, The Meadowvale Seniors Social Club celebrated its 40^th Anniversary
In 2025 the Club has 500 plus members, a triple digit increment from the original count of 21 members in 1982.

How we work

The Meadowvale Seniors Social Club is a non-profit organization registered with the Province of Ontario. The Club operates in accordance with all Government legislation including the Charter of Rights and Freedom and Harassment prevention.
The objective of the Seniors Club is to provide social fellowship, health and wellness activities for people 55 and over, that reside in the Meadowvale, Mississauga area.
The Club is run solely by volunteers and administered by a volunteer executive committee. The club’s constitution includes a code of conduct and core values to provide a safe environment for all the members.
The Club supports the community through donations to local charities.   
The Meadowvale Seniors Social Club welcomes all members and volunteers to help achieve our objectives.
